I don’t have many issues with my diet – I try to eat healthily and my alcohol intake is very low – but one of the main ones is the amount of coke I drink! I know that it’s bad for me, but I can’t seem to stop drinking it! I’m sure it’s probably partly the addictive nature of caffeine, but it’s a habit I’m going to try and stop this summer.

I don’t believe that leaving your tooth in a glass of coke overnight will completely dissolve the tooth – I’ve seen several TV programs where this myth has been debunked – but I do believe that drinking coke is bad for the teeth. One or two a week isn’t going to make a difference in the long term, but drinking three or four a day definitely is!

So here are my goals for the summer.

  1. Get my coke intake down to a maximum of two a day
  2. Then reduce it to one a day (I think it should be easy to this point)
  3. Once I’m OK with one a day reduce it further to three or four a week.
  4. Finally, stop buying coke altogether and only have it when I go out to eat (which is what I used to do until a few years ago)

I’ll let you know how I get on! I think it’s probably going to e harder than it sounds – this type of thing always looks easy on paper but more difficult in real life.
